Executive Summary
Cross Community was created to develop initiatives specifically designed to support the City of south bend's West Side main street s revitalization plan for west side neighborhoods. Kingdom Campus is a private sector effort to help "ensure that every existing family that wants to stay on the West Side will have a decent home and a thriving neighborhood." With Kingdom Life Christian Cathedral, itself an historic building at the heart of the campus and the development of a multiplex gymnasium, the Campus contributes to the city's vision of making the area a destination of historic and current interest.
Kingdom Campus will create jobs and employment, and on-going career opportunities. It will encourage community pride, social engagement and collaboration. It will inspire other organizations to partner with the city to make the West Side Main Streets vision a reality.
